Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup plain pumpkin puree unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter no xylitol
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup water as needed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional

  • 1 Dog treat cookie cutters
  • 1 Oven

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree and peanut butter until smooth.
  3. Add the egg to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix in the whole wheat flour, followed by the cinnamon if using.
  5. If the dough is too dry, add water a tablespoon at a time until the mixture holds together but is not sticky.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Use dog treat cookie cutters to cut out fun shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the treats are firm and lightly golden.
  9. Let the treats cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store these treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze them for up to 3 months.
