Total Time 45 minutes
Servings: 24

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked salmon flaked (ensure no bones)
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree plain, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup fresh spinach finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup water if needed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Cookie cutters
  • 1 Blender or food processor

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, pumpkin puree, finely chopped spinach, whole wheat flour, egg, and olive oil.
  3. Mix the ingredients until well combined. If the dough is too dry, gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, until it holds together.
  4. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the treats are golden brown and firm to the touch.
  7. Remove the treats from the oven and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.

Variations:
- Substitute the salmon with cooked chicken for a different flavor.
- Add 1/4 cup of grated carrots for extra nutrition.
- Use oat flour instead of whole wheat flour for a gluten-free option.
