Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup plain peanut butter no xylitol
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup water as needed

  • 1 Cookie cutters

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, applesauce, egg, and olive oil. Mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the whole wheat flour and oats to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. If the dough is too dry, add water a tablespoon at a time until it reaches a workable consistency.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack before serving them to your dog.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Remember, these are treats and should be given in moderation. Always consult with your veterinarian if your dog has specific dietary needs.
Variations:
- Substitute unsweetened pumpkin puree for applesauce for a seasonal twist.
- Add 1/4 cup of shredded carrots for added nutrition and flavor.
- Mix in a tablespoon of cinnamon for a warming spice (ensure your dog isn't allergic).
