Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cooked chicken shredded
  • 1 cup sweet potato mashed
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional for flavor

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, mashed sweet potato, plain yogurt, and olive oil. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add the egg to the mixture and stir until incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the whole wheat flour, mixing until a dough forms. If using, sprinkle in the cinnamon and mix again.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  6. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  8. Once baked, remove the treats from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store the biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze the treats for up to three months. Remember, these biscuits are an occasional treat and should be given in moderation. Always consult your veterinarian if your dog has allergies or dietary restrictions.
Variations:
- Substitute chicken with cooked turkey for a different protein source.
- Add pureed pumpkin instead of sweet potato for a seasonal twist.
- Mix in small blueberries or carrots for added nutrients and flavor.
