Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter no xylitol
  • 1 ripe banana mashed
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt unsweetened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup water as needed

  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Cookie cutter (optional)
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and peanut butter until they are well blended.
  3. Add the mashed banana, yogurt, and egg to the bowl, mixing until all ingredients are combined into a dough.
  4. If the dough is too dry, gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, until you achieve a workable consistency.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Use cookie cutters or slice the dough into shapes or strips for twisting.
  7. Place the cut-out treats onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the treats are golden brown.
  9. Once baked, remove the treats from the oven and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or freeze them in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months. Remember to treat these as occasional snacks and consult your vet if your dog has any dietary restrictions.
Variations:
- Substitute the whole wheat flour with oat flour for a gluten-free option.
- Add in 1/4 cup of finely shredded carrots for added nutrition.
- Mix in a few blueberries for a burst of flavor and antioxidants.
