Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 ripe banana mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups oat flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon optional for flavor

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the unsweetened applesauce and the mashed banana until smooth.
  3. Add the egg to the mixture and stir well to combine.
  4. Gradually add the oat flour to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. If using, add the cinnamon and mix thoroughly.
  5. Lightly flour your surface with oat flour and roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  6. Use cookie cutters to cut out fun shapes from the dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Remove the treats from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Storage & Reheating:
Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Always remember to feed treats in moderation and consult your veterinarian if your dog has any health issues or dietary restrictions.
Variations:
- Substitute sweet potato puree for the applesauce for a different flavor.
- Add a tablespoon of peanut butter (ensure it’s xylitol-free) for extra taste.
- Mix in some chopped blueberries or cranberries for added nutrition and flavor.
